A New RAD

The new headquarters for the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) in York Place is on the ground level of a development providing 299 mixed-tenure homes as part of the wider area regeneration. Covering 6,200 sqm of floor space, it includes a series of state-of-the-art dance studios, a performance space, student library, lecture theatre and public shop and café, with office space extending to the first floor. The landscaped promenade provides a gathering space for visitors and an entrance while revitalising the surrounding streets.

My role was design lead from Stage 3-4 and compliance monitoring role during the design-and-build contract with Synergy, through to handover in December 2021.
